Each year we honor one Family and Consumer Sciences teacher as Adviser of the Year. A host of wonderful and deserving advisers were nominated by students and colleagues. This person has given the extra measure to make her chapter outstanding. Advisers are truly the backbone of our organization and this year’s Adviser of the Year exemplifies all the qualities of a great leader.
Of this year’s nominee, her students write –
“She is very supportive, kind, loves to cook and is always happy to see what we have made. And she is always open if we need help. She listens and is interested in what we have to say or show. She loves FCCLA as much as we do, and sees the value in the organization. She wants to grow her own professional development and applied for the Leadership team through National FCCLA this year. She lets us run with our ideas and practice our leadership and that’s exactly what FCCLA is all about.”
